FLING Residency

Reuben spent 11 days in the Bega Valley as a Guest Artist with FLING Physical Theatre. Each morning was dedicated to solo practice, both exploring improvisation and developing material for classes and future projects; some of this work also took place at the Trading Post in Wolumla. Reuben participated in and facilitated community engagement classes and Company classes. As part of the Take The Pressure Down program, they talked to FLING Company members about pathways in dance and the creative arts. A highlight of the residency was diving into the creative process of adapting FLING’s award-winning 2018 work My Black Dog. Working with dancers, producers, and cinematographers, Reuben jumped into script edits, rehearsals, location scouting and microphone operation.
Reuben also fulfilled important roles including ‘Pringles Can Acquisition’ and ‘Backpack Butterknife Bandit’.
